  • Main Line Today's Best of the Main Line and Westen Suburbs event will be held on July 18 at Drexelbrook, located at 4700 Drexelbrook Drive in Drexel Hill. There will be food, drinks, and entertainment.

  • Lori O'Leary of MusicWorks has been selected as one of five winners of the KYW Newsradio 2013 Women's Achievement Awards.

  • Congratulations to the following SPW members for being named SmartCEO Brava! Award winners: Pnina Mintz, The Center for Neurological and Neurodevelopmental Health; Maureen Tomoschuk, Community Volunteers in Medicine; Michal Smith, Cradles to Crayons; Nancy Dunleavy, Dunleavy and Associates; Marcella Bossow Schankweiler, For Pete's Sake Cancer Respite Foundation; Jennifer Byrne, The Tropical Travelers

  • The Alzheimer's Association held its annual Chocolate Symphony fundraiser this month with over 200 attendees. Proceeds from the event will help fund chapter programs and services to nearly 300,000 people.

  • People's Light and Theatre Company was honored with the PNC Arts Alive Award for Innovation in Honor of Peggy Amsterdam, which recognizes a visual and/or performing arts group that has successfully demonstrated an innovative approach to increasing arts access and engagement.

  • Kim Landry, president of Hollister Creative (Silver Sponsor), will be honored on May 10 at the Decades of Excellence awards gala hosted by the National Women Business Owners Corporation. She will be inducted into the Decades of Excellence Hall of Fame in honor of her 10 years of certification as a Women's Business Enterprise.

  • Molly Shepard, president and CEO of The Leader's Edge/Leaders By Design LLC (SPW April speaker), will be honored with the Woman of Spirit Award at the 2013 Women Against MS Luncheon for her unparalleled commitment to raising money and MS awareness.

  • Employees of USI Affinity, (SPW Title Sponsor) will be spending the day with Cradles to Crayons as part of their Community Outreach program to assist them in fulfilling their mission.

  • Lankenau Hospital, part of Main Line Health (SPW Women's Health Sponsor), was named one of the nation's 100 top hospitals by Truven Health Analytics

  • Jim Falk of Nolan Painting, Inc. (SPW Gold Sponsor) lead a charity painting project for the Painting and Decorating Contractors of America Delaware Valley chapter. It will help NOVA in Bucks County, an organization dedicated to helping and counseling victims of sexual assault.

  • Odell Studner (SPW Silver Sponsor) donated $5,000 to Golden Slipper Clubs & Charities to go towards its Human Needs and Services division.

  • The Alzheimer's Association is offering a "Know the 10 Signs: Early Detection Matters" program in Cambodian on Saturday, April 6th from 12 pm - 1 pm at the United Healthcare Multicultural Community Center located at 1900 S. Broad Street

  • Bruce Hotaling, CFA, Managing Partner and Founder, has announced that Hotaling Investment Management is now a fully independent registered investment advisory under the name Hotaling Investment Management LLC

  • Nolan Painting, Inc. has been awarded the esteemed 2012 Angie's List Super Service Award for the 7th consecutive year, receiving a minimum number of outstanding reports from Angie's List members, maintaining an A average on both the reports for 2012 as well as on their overall reports and not being in poor standing with the Better Business Bureau.

  • TechGirlz (Featured Non-Profit at SPW October event) founder, Tracy Welson-Rossman, was featured in an article by Team Pennsylvania Foundation about the importance of technology and STEM in the lives of young women.

  • Women's Resource Center will be hosting its 7th Annual Leadership Luncheon on April 12 at 11 am at the Hyatt at the Bellevue, featuring Keynote Speaker Elizabeth Gilbert and Neen James as the Emcee.

  • New Leash on Life was named to the Top-Rated List of Nonprofits for 2012 by GreatNonprofits.

  • The following SPW members were named to the Main Line Today 2012 Power Women List: Maida Milone of Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, JoAnn Magnatta of Main Line Health, Sue Schick of UnitedHealthcare, Susan Garrison of The Center Foundation, Kathy Landau Goodman of Main Line Audiology Consultants and Danielle Gray of Restore Chiropractic.

  • The following SPW members were named Women of Distinction for 2012 by the Philadelphia Business Journal: Yvette Bright, Independence Blue Cross, Jill Michal of United Way, Nanette Carney of The Carney Group and Maria Trafton of Wells Fargo.

  • Michele Daly of Women's Resource Center was honored with the Athena Award by the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce.

  • Michelle Goglia, former Director of Small Business, has been promoted to Vice President of Sales for UnitedHealthcare.

  • The American Red Cross will be hosting its 19th Annual Spectrum Awards on November 1 at Hyatt at the Bellevue. One of the award recipients is Pamela Rainey-Lawler, the founder of Philabundance.

  • Anna Serefeas, Director of Business Development for the Drexel University LeBow College of Business, was named the SPW woman of the month by Main Line Media News.

  • Penn Mutual donated $2.5 million to build a Center for Veterans Affairs to help returning soldiers, reservists and other veterans study to become insurance agents and financial advisors.

  • Ellen Fisher of Women's Yellow Pages, won the Women in Business Champion of the Year Award from the U.S. Small Business Administration for the Eastern Region.

  • Pals for Life's "Bow Wow Bingo" fundraiser had a record attendance of 300 people and 50 pets, raising a total of $15,600! The money will be used to provide for expenses associated with bringing pets on nearly 700 visits to the elderly and ill at facilities throughout the Delaware Valley.

  • Anastasia C. Sheffler-Wood of Stradley Ronon, was appointed as vice president of the West Chester based Grove United Methodist Church board of trustees.

  • Yangming was named the #1 Chinese restaurant in the USA by the Chinese Restaurant News Magazine and their owner Michael M. Wei was recognized as one of the “Influential Personalities in the Restaurant Industry.”

  • Sarah Peterson, a Main Line Chamber Board Member and Main Line Health’s Senior Vice President of Marketing and Public Affairs, has been accepted into the Forum of Executive Women.

  • Elizabeth Birmingham, a nursing student at Harcum College, is the 2010 recipient of the Gold Leaf Scholarship, sponsored by The Main Line Chamber of Commerce and Harcum College. The scholarship is awarded to a female student who exhibits outstanding leadership qualities.

  • Dr. Karen A. Stout, President of Montgomery County Community College, was elected to the National Junior College Athletic Association Board of Directors (NJCAA). She will represent the Northeastern District, which includes Regions 3, 15, 19 and 21 for a two-year term.

  • Stradley Ronon partner, Deborah Hong, was selected as a 2010 Pennsylvania “Lawyer on the Fast Track” by The Legal Intelligencer, a Philadelphia-based daily legal newspaper. Hong was one of 30 Pennsylvania attorneys recognized as future leaders of the state’s legal community based on their development of the law, commitment to the community and service to the bar.

  • SPW Advisory Council Chair, Terry D’Alessandro, has been named Executive Vice President, Director of Community Banking at Firstrust Bank. She will manage the bank’s entire retail banking operation including its 24 offices in Bucks, Burlington, Chester, Lehigh, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties.

  • Suzanne Jackson of Stephano Slack LLC, won the Business Woman of the Year Award at the 2010 Women’s Referral Network Luncheon honoring women for their work in the community.

  • The Main Line Chamber’s Eileen Connolly- Robbins, was honored as a Victorious Woman by Annmarie Kelly of The Victorious Woman Project. She was honored at the April 22 SPW event, “Decreasing Your Daily Dose of Stress”. The Victorious Woman Award is given to women who have exemplified the desire and accomplishments of stepping into leadership.

  • Carole Felton Communications was honored for its leadership in social responsibility. They were named as a winner in the category “Making a Difference” at the 2010 Communitas Awards for work accomplished on behalf of Career Wardrobe.

  • Seasons 52 has brought in Executive Chef Partner, Anne Moriarta to lead the culinary expansion in the kitchen. Anne brings creativity and impressive expertise to her role. A widely-respected veteran of the restaurant industry, she takes pride in assuring Seasons 52 guests a superb dining experience. She has been heralded in several publications such as Forbes, Southern Living, and Ladies Home Journal.

  • Judith M. Lewis, a graduate student in Organizational Leadership at Cabrini College, is the 2009 recipient of the Gold Leaf Scholarship, sponsored by The Main Line Chamber of Commerce and Cabrini College. The scholarship is awarded to a female student who exhibits outstanding leadership qualities.
