- Penn Mutual donated $2.5 million to build a Center for Veterans Affairs to help returning soldiers, reservists and other veterans study to become insurance agents and financial advisors.
- Ellen Fisher of Women's Yellow Pages, won the Women in Business Champion of the Year Award from the U.S. Small Business Administration for the Eastern Region.
- Pals for Life's "Bow Wow Bingo" fundraiser had a record attendance of 300 people and 50 pets, raising a total of $15,600! The money will be used to provide for expenses associated with bringing pets on nearly 700 visits to the elderly and ill at facilities throughout the Delaware Valley.

Women’s Resource Center and named to the Forum of Executive Women.
- Lynn Yeakel of the Women's Resource Center will be honored for her civic and community leadership and tireless advocacy for women's issues, at their 5th Annual Leadership Luncheon on April 14.
- Barbara Denczi, Vice President of Business Development for Bryn Mawr Trust Company, was honored with the Athena Award by Delaware County Chamber of Commerce for excellence in her profession, improving quality of life for others in community, and helping women realize their leadership potential.

Marketing and Public Affairs, has been accepted into the Forum
of Executive Women.
- Elizabeth Birmingham, a nursing student at
Harcum College, is the 2010 recipient of the Gold Leaf Scholarship,
sponsored by The Main Line Chamber of Commerce and Harcum College.
The scholarship is awarded to a female student who exhibits
outstanding leadership qualities.
- Dr. Karen A. Stout, President of Montgomery
County Community College, was elected to the National Junior
College Athletic Association Board of Directors (NJCAA). She
will represent the Northeastern District, which includes Regions
3, 15, 19 and 21 for a two-year term.
- Stradley Ronon partner, Deborah Hong, was
selected as a 2010 Pennsylvania “Lawyer on the Fast Track”
by The Legal Intelligencer, a Philadelphia-based daily legal
newspaper. Hong was one of 30 Pennsylvania attorneys recognized
as future leaders of the state’s legal community based
on their development of the law, commitment to the community
and service to the bar.
- SPW Advisory Council Chair, Terry D’Alessandro,
has been named Executive Vice President, Director of Community Banking
at Firstrust Bank. She will manage the bank’s entire retail
banking operation including its 24 offices in Bucks, Burlington,
Chester, Lehigh, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties.
- Suzanne Jackson of Stephano Slack LLC, won
the Business Woman of the Year Award at the 2010 Women’s Referral
Network Luncheon honoring women for their work in the community.
- The Main Line Chamber’s Eileen Connolly- Robbins,
was honored as a Victorious Woman by Annmarie Kelly of The Victorious
Woman Project. She was honored at the April 22 SPW event, “Decreasing
Your Daily Dose of Stress”. The Victorious Woman Award is given
to women who have exemplified the desire and accomplishments
of stepping into leadership.
- Carole Felton Communications was honored
for its leadership in social responsibility. They were named
as a winner in the category “Making a Difference” at the 2010
Communitas Awards for work accomplished on behalf of Career
Wardrobe.

Moriarta to lead the culinary expansion in the kitchen.

- Judith M. Lewis, a graduate student in Organizational
Leadership at Cabrini College, is the 2009 recipient of the

Commerce and Cabrini College. The scholarship is awarded to
a female student who exhibits outstanding leadership qualities.
